FREE iPhone App!
Ecotistix are now offering a FREE iPhone app for Organic Gardeners, enthusiasts and those who like to grow, and then ‘cook’ their own! Our clever little custom built app, lists our favourite 29 vegetables. We then detail when’s the best time to grow the vegetables, suggest our recommended variety and give a friendly laymens perspective of how we found the vegetable to grow in our own gardens down here in sunny Kent.
At the moment our app is entirely free, you just need to search for ‘VegLogistix’ at the app store, but we are working on ‘Release 2′ as we speak which will not only have the info, pics and suggestions as to how to grow your veg in the UK, but also links to handy recipes for each vegetable which even lists all the ingredients needed as well.
At Ecotistix, we like to use the latest modern technologies with a hobby that so many people in the UK love. In the coming weeks we’ll be launching competitions to have YOUR recipes featured on our app!
Recipe Competition
If you have downloaded our very successful iPhone app ‘VegLogistix’ you’ll know that the app shows a number of popular ‘Grow your Own’ vegetables suitable for UK gardens in app form. You select a vegetable and can receive instructions, in laymens terms, of how to grow these. We are adding a additional feature to the app soon whereby under each vegetable, there will be up to 3 recipe ideas which include that vegetable. This is where we need your help!
We are looking for innovative recipe ideas that you have used and tried yourselves. If it’s a regional recipe passed down from parents or Grandparents, so much the better. But it MUST include the vegetable(s) you’ve listed in the form below, and they must be the vegetables listed in our original app.
To enter this competition, which will be drawn on 1st December, 2010, you must submit the form below. The recipe must be in your own words and not copied from anywhere else. You must agree by submitting the recipe and form that regardless of whether you win or not, you will allow the recipe to be used in our iPhone app and that we are allowed to publish the name you give in the appropriate field below. Finally, if you have a photograph of your recipe, you’ll be awarded extra points. Please send the photograph by separate email to info@ecotistix.com. Good luck! The prize? Oh yes…the prize for the recipe we deem the best in terms of effort, most interesting and exciting will win a £50 shopping voucher at Ecotistix.co.uk. 2nd prize is £20 and 3rd prize is £10.
